Eaton Fuller Roadranger Gearbox Repairs & Exchange

Need Roadranger gearbox repairs without the long wait? PROTRUCK keeps reconditioned Eaton Fuller Roadranger exchange units in stock, alongside full repairs and rebuilds for trucks and heavy vehicles Australia-wide.

A gearbox failure shouldn't park your truck for weeks. That's why at PROTRUCK, we hold the most popular Roadranger transmissions on our shelves as reconditioned and exchange units, each one backed by warranty. Prefer to keep your own gearbox? Our mechanics can repair or fully rebuild it instead.

Every job is handled at our Fountaindale workshop on the Central Coast, where local operators can roll the truck in or drop off the gearbox on its own. Further afield in Newcastle, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth or Darwin? Freight it to us and it comes back rebuilt and ready to fit.

We've been looking after trucks and heavy machinery since 2003, and our mechanics bring that experience to every Roadranger that comes through the door.

Roadranger Gearboxes We Work On

Roadranger (often written Road Ranger) gearboxes are among the most common manual transmissions in Australian prime movers and heavy rigids, including many Kenworth, Western Star, Mack and Freightliner trucks. Our team works on:

  • 9 and 10-speed Roadranger gearboxes
  • 13 and 15-speed Roadranger gearboxes
  • 18-speed Roadranger gearboxes, including the popular RTLO models
  • Other Eaton heavy truck transmissions

Reconditioned & Exchange Roadranger Units

When your truck needs to get moving, waiting on a full rebuild isn't always an option. That's why we stock the most popular Eaton Fuller Roadranger transmissions as reconditioned and exchange units.

Instead of waiting for your own gearbox to be stripped and rebuilt, you can swap it for a reconditioned unit from our stock. Every recon and exchange unit comes with warranty. Contact our team to check which units are currently available and how the exchange works for your truck.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are you an authorised Eaton dealer?

We're an independent workshop with no affiliation to Eaton. What we do have is more than two decades of heavy vehicle experience and something many operators value even more: Roadranger exchange units on our shelves, ready to go. Every reconditioned and exchange unit comes with warranty, and our specialised parts inventory helps keep rebuilds moving.

Since opening in 2003, we've built our name on straight talk. We strip and inspect your gearbox, tell you exactly what's worn, and give you the choice between rebuilding your own unit or swapping it for an exchange.

  • Can you repair my Roadranger gearbox if I'm outside the Central Coast?

Absolutely. Owner operators and fleets from Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Darwin, Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle can all send their Roadranger to us, along with regional operators throughout South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria.

Your local mechanic removes the gearbox, it's freighted to Fountaindale, and we send it back rebuilt once the work is done. Short on time? Ask about swapping it for one of our exchange units instead.

  • Can I drop my truck off at your workshop?

Yes. Central Coast customers can bring the truck or gearbox straight to our Fountaindale workshop.

  • Can I arrange my own freight?

Yes. You're welcome to organise your own freight to and from our Fountaindale workshop if you prefer. Many operators already have freight arrangements in place, so if you're sending your Roadranger gearbox from Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra or Darwin, you can use your preferred carrier. If you'd rather we handle it, just ask and we'll include freight options in your quote.

  • Do you have Roadranger gearboxes in stock?

Yes. We stock the most popular Eaton Fuller Roadranger transmissions as reconditioned and exchange units. Contact our team to check current availability for your model.

  • Do your reconditioned and exchange units come with warranty?

Yes. Every reconditioned and exchange Roadranger unit we supply comes with warranty.

  • Can you rebuild my own Roadranger instead of exchanging it?

Yes. We can repair or fully rebuild your existing gearbox. An exchange unit is simply the faster option when downtime is a concern.

  • Can you supply Roadranger parts?

Yes. We hold a large inventory of specialised gearbox parts. Call or email us with your part numbers or gearbox model.
