Is PROTRUCK an authorised Volvo service centre?
We operate independently and aren't affiliated with Volvo. For many operators, that's part of the appeal: a heavy vehicle workshop that assesses your I-Shift or manual gearbox on its merits and gives you a straight answer on repair versus rebuild.
A lot of I-Shift problems trace back to actuators, sensors or the air supply rather than the gearbox internals, so we test properly before recommending major work. Combine that with heavy vehicle experience dating back to 2003 and a large stock of specialised parts, and you've got a team focused on keeping your Volvo earning.
Can I send my Volvo gearbox from interstate?
Yes. Freight is how we work with Volvo operators beyond the Central Coast, including customers in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Darwin, and regional areas across Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.
Once your gearbox has been removed, send it to our Fountaindale workshop. After the repair or rebuild, it comes back to you ready to fit. Let us know and we'll put freight options in your quote.
Can I bring my Volvo straight to you?
Yes. Central Coast operators are welcome to bring the whole truck to our Fountaindale workshop, or just the gearbox if it's already out.
Can I use my own carrier?
Yes. If your business already moves freight between Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra or Darwin, it often makes sense to use your existing carrier to get the gearbox to us and back. Prefer we sort it out? Just ask when you request a quote.
Do you work on Volvo I-Shift transmissions?
Yes. We service, repair and rebuild Volvo I-Shift automated manual transmissions, as well as earlier Volvo manual gearboxes.
Can a Volvo truck gearbox be rebuilt rather than replaced?
In most cases, yes. After inspecting the gearbox, we'll let you know if a repair or full rebuild is the right option.
